When you divide all the arable land on our planet by the number of people living on the earth, we each have 2000m2. This Field of Enquiry series of workshops, organised by Whitmuir Community Farm project, will explore the food system through the lens of that 2000m2.
Over ten Saturdays, topic by topic, the Filed of Enquiry team will examine the current state of affairs, make sense of the pressures on the system and frame the questions we should ask our scientists, farmers and politicians to answer if we are to do things differently.
The third day of the series will take bread as its vehicle for discovery, examine the role of wheat in our food story…and explore the role of bread as a community organising force for change.
Our guides for the day will be Andrew Whitley and Veronica Burke, Directors of Scotland the Bread, with guests, including the High Rise community bakers from Glasgow.
