Celtic Knot 1kg
This wood-pulp proving basket is designed to take 1 kg of dough (allowing for expansion during proof) and is one of a series with special designs imprinted into the base of the basket – and therefore into the top of the resulting baked loaf. To emphasise the knot shape, fill it carefully with a layer of seeds (sesame, poppy or linseed are good), flakes or a contrasting colour of flour or bran. Then place your dough carefully into the basket to preserve the knot shaped design.
The celtic knot would be a fitting adornment to the Scottish-inspried Honey & Ginger Sourdough Bannock, the recipe for which may be found in DO Sourdough – Slow bread for busy lives
Please note: these baskets are not an alternative to a baking tin.
